Getting on with winter
After riding a couple times a week all summer long, I must have lost something. I haven’t ridden for more than a week. May be it’s the cold weather? I am always busy but manage to find time.
I have been eating a lot more, though I already eat pretty well and I dug out my sweatshirts and found plastic to put over the windows. I am shipping out a few frames this week (stuff back from paint) and entering this indoor season with a renewed energy and enthusiasm. Why? New light bulbs. It may not seem like much but it makes a big difference.
Other news, I got an old Dodge truck to use on the hill. It’s a ’67 W100 Powerwagon. It needs a little love but it’s not bad for it’s age. Only 20,000 miles also. It’s fun to drive but only goes 45 mph or so. Or at least it would if it was running right. The guy I got it from is pretty interesting. His name is Barney and he had a bike shop in Chester VT many years ago. I told him you can still see his shop listed on “google” and the internet. He got a little upset. I told him no one really paid attention to the internet and he was fine with that.
He was a bit surprised that a downhill racer is mostly aluminum. I brought him an F-bomb and my Magneto road bike to check out. I asked him if he was stoked and he said “sure”. Barney is 89.
