s I am out riding again and already seeing improvements in my health and energy. It’s also great to spend time alone in the woods (or wherever you ride) focusing on the patch of earth in front of the tire.
We have been having fun designing soft-goods and launched an Etsy store. We didn’t do a lot of planning so expect to see a couple of changes very soon. Thanks to all who have made purchases and don’t forget to post photos.
Other big news is Edge Model has moved in and making one-off and short run mill parts on his 3 axis CNC mill.
I have spent the past few weeks riding a 29+ hardtail prototype. It’s refered to as an “all mountain” which basically means it’s supposed to be “well rounded” which seems odd when you see it for the first time. I generally like longer bikes but I have to admit I was skeptical and I am sure I must have said “It can’t be good at blah, blah, blah” at Sea Otter when I saw the Pole bike. Anyway “well rounded” usually involves some type of comprimise though the only real challenge so far is fitting the bike into a small vehicle which is a minor inconvenience.
My time with this frame is coming to an end and I am now faced with building myself another frame and not interested in well rounded. What this bike doesn’t do well isn’t something I have missed.
Thanks to DVO suspension, Industry nine wheels, Diety components and Vittoria tires for making great parts.
Please enjoy these photos.
