Some day in June
I got Curt’s bike done as well as a nice Columbus MAX road bike. Curt’s 26″, best described as a “Joe Friday” is painted, built up and hauling his butt to work. It’s nice to see someone choose a bike as transpo. Lanie’s car has chronic exhaust problems from driving such a short distance to work. The car never warms up and the exhaust is always wet.
I have a bunch of pics but can you believe this weather? Stuff is growing like crazy. I threw in a pic down below. Some of the roads are like tunnels.
We started disliking production food a while ago due to cost and low quality and started picking a few items at the farmers market. We found it to be tasty and cost effective. Eventually, we started eating mostly locally grown food and found out about investing in local farms during their off season to receive goods when the season is in progress. It’s called CSA
We started picking up our CSA shares a couple of weeks ago. For those of you that don’t know, CSA is “community supported agriculture”.
We get $20.00 worth of farm goods once a week. It usually amounts to a large grocery bag filled.
We got several types of leaf veggies like kale, collard greens, Swiss chard, red lettuce, bok choi , scallions and spinach. I don’t know what this stuff would cost at Gelsons but “picked yesterday” is pretty friggin amazing to me.
Nice but I have a lot of bikes to build. I made a new fixture for attaching shifter bosses to steel frames. I can also fit it to attach cable housing stops.
That was supposed to be the fixture but I must have forgotten to take the pic.
I started on this Yeti rebuild today. It’s a small ARC frame. I really like working on the small bikes and built most of the original tooling required to build the small Yeti bikes. Keep in mind that small or womens specific bikes were still very rare. We called the first small yeti “Betty” because that was what we typically did. The Yeti with a rack was a Yak so the Yeti for Betsy would be a Betty. We spent a lot of time laughing.
Anyway, we built it for Betsy who worked at Yeti and was loved by everyone. She is still around and is always smiling in the pics I see.
Anyway, you can see why I love these small frames. I enjoy challenging geometry and something else I can’t describe.
Here are some pics of the Yeti and of this cool MAX frame with the shifter bosses.
