Totally random and Yeti era stem
If you have been paying attention, you may have noticed on recent previous posts some non-bicycle aluminum “weldments”. I have been working on the project with some fine young people that are some of the shining stars of the future of design. I have worked with these guys on some other stuff but this was awesome.

I happen to enjoy working on “access devices” for people who want to get where they would otherwise not be able to go. Simple. The concept of access is simple but in many ways complicated. There are always ways to get things done but in the end, can they be achieved with available resources? My part of the equation is pretty easy. I sometimes make devices. Bikes, skis, walkers, whatever.
What if access wasn’t so easy. What if you are a young person who made a mistake. Wait, rather than going there, let’s dare to talk about the mistakes of our own doing that were narrow escapes. There are people who take those chances when they speak about women’s rights and there are people who are at risk now. Consider doing something positive soon.
I am happy to provide access to those who provide access. Do you know what I mean?
I made a Yeti era 4130 stem today. I made parts for two more and a fixture for custom sizing. I don’t think Ill get to any more this year. Here are some pics.
It’s funny that after the bar clamp is split, some oil residue gets on to the bronze. It makes an awesome color.
You and I have talked about the weather but today was so amazing when the sun came up.
I have a beautiful old yeti ultimate- xl in turq with a bright yellow accutrax rigid fork. Wondering if you could make me a FTW stem. Let me know. Thanks.
Hi, shoot me an email “frankthewelder@comcast.net” we may be able to help.
I am still interested in the stem. – sorry I missed your response.
